dog books by Kate Eldredge

Kate Eldredge

Kate is a student at Cornell University, majoring in English. She is also an award-winning writer with multiple Maxwell awards from the Dog Writers Association of America to her credit, as well as Arthur Awards from the Alliance of Purebred Dog Writers. Despite her young age, Kate has also competed in virtually all dog sports and was the first junior to achieve a Versatile Companion Dog title through AKC. She is also the youngest handler to earn a Champion Tracker title – both achievements done with her Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Kate has also helped to judge matches and teach 4-H classes in obedience, rally, agility and junior showmanship. She is active in multiple dog clubs, both on a local and national scale.

Kate began writing at the age of 10 for the Corgi Cryer. She wrote the junior handler column for the online agility magazine agilityaction.com, a Junior Showmanship column for the Corgi Cryer from 2004 to 2009 and the Junior Showmanship column for Dogs In Review from 2005 through 2008. The Dogs In Review column had been passed on to her when the previous columnist aged out of Juniors, so she passed on the column in turn. In 2006, she added the rally column for the USASA Journal, which is still going strong today. She has also written articles for Dogs for Kids magazine and the 2009 edition of the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Guidebook.
